The bobblehead would be me. You see I was pretty tired last night. I made it through nine innings, but then I started to do the old head bob.
Maybe I was so sleepy because it was such a pitchers duel. Niemann and Matusz were both on. Niemann had a shaky third that resulted in a run. Meanwhile Matusz was another leftly no hitting the Rays until Benny Z decided to bunt.
Gasp, Longo had an error. Barty had one later in the day too. We’ll blame the cold.
Pena was having no problems with defense. He caught two foul balls in the stands. Those fans should be ashamed of themselves they cost their team two outs.
Then Niemann made the mistake that stings. Wiggy hit a two run shot to left. Ouch.
The Rays waited patiently though until the eighth when Matusz was losing steam. Navi started off the hit parade and by the time it was done the Rays plated five.
Wheeler comes out to hold the game. He gets two out but walks one. Then Choate is brought in to get the lefty out. However Choate blows! Great Scott that’s some hair hit the ball far. Tie game. Grrrr.
This is where it starts to get fuzzy. I have flashes of the ninth but something in the tenth woke me up. It was Staats’s voice saying “There’s a shot!” Pena hit a three run home run. Yay! Goodnight. I went to bed on faith that the Rays could pull it out.
I woke up to see Wiggy hit another one out. That’s Wiggy Wiggy Wack Yo.

I didn’t get the Bobble head, but I did get the “O-brother” once I heard Gary Thorne call Pena’s shot in the 10th. I watched the Orioles feed. I had some hopes that the Orioles could climb out of last place this season (especially with Toronto losing Halladay) but it isn’t looking good.
I thought Benny’s bunt was kind of cheap, but it was still early, and who expected Matusz to pitch a no hitter? Although, it might be the best way to get the Orioles a win at this point.
Benny’s bunt did seem a little cheap, but I didn’t care at that point after what went down with Sabathia the other day.
Not only that, but the Yankees left town dissing your ballpark. I thought Maddon’s comments were funny:

Tejada is killing the Orioles at third base – but they’re also doing a decent job killing themselves.
