Carlos Does it Just Right

Carlos Pena’s performance tonight is exactly what this Rays fan ordered. He flashed his smile, hit a respectable number of dingers and didn’t wear himself out for the second half of the season. Congrats Los, you made us proud.
Some other things I noticed…
Is it just me or did these guys seem to take a lot of pitches tonight? It’s not exactly ideal for television. In Carlos’s case, his pitcher was kind of off, but I didn’t notice that with the other guys?
The announcing was terrible. I had to turn it down after a while.
Why can’t Erin Andrews wear a pair of jeans and a t-shirt? I know it’s her job to look professional, but it’s still odd to see a flowy yellow blouse at the ballpark.
The ball tracker thing was gay. It reminded me of the flame they used to track the hockey puck a couple years back.
Does anyone else worry about the children’s safety? They’re sitting so close. Nobody’s worried about a stray foul ball, or a shattered bat? Yikes.
The Rays were represented by a faithful fan with awesome seats. I had a hunch and I headed on over to DRaysBay. Sure enough that lucky sucker is one of their own, SRQman. I hope he had a great time. It was nice to see that TB hat right up front!
Brandon Inge didn’t hit any homers tonight, but I bet he makes a web gem tomorrow.
Congrats to Prince Fielder. It wasn’t as fun as his in the park homerun…
I can’t wait to see the Rays all-stars in action!
