Dear Knology,
I’m normally a pretty mild mannered chick. However after a long day today I came home to find out that you will not be carrying the Rays games on Sun Sports. What the hell? Do I need to come down there and bust some knee caps? You’re taking away half of the Rays games? And you expect your customers to just sit idly by? Screw that. What happened to the customer is always right. This customer says put my team on my TV or I’ll find someone who will.
I missed the Rays first win of 2009, against the Red Sox, in Fenway. Yes that was a blood curling scream you just heard. How am I supposed to ramble all of my mindless thoughts to the tens of people who read my blog without actually seeing the game. I need to see Pena finally hit the ball instead of spinning himself into the ground. I need to see Bartlett lay down an awesome bunt. Actually I just need to see Bartlett. It does a body good.
You have 48 hours to change your mind or I’m dropping you like a slippery bar of soap.
By the way it took a herculean effort to keep this notice fairly clean.
Suck it,
Her Rays

It might be worthwhile to pick up the MLB package on your local cable outlet. I bit the bullet this year (for $169) so I could keep in touch with the Orioles and see some other games that ESPN doesn’t deem “important” enough to show us – like any team but the Red Sox, Yankees and Cubs.
Thanks Anthony, but I think I heard that the local games are blacked out on the MLB package. You better bet I’ll be doing some research today.
Local game were blacked out for me on the MLB package. Even when they were not broadcast. It seems to be the best bet is to keep fighting or switch. Thankfully I have Verizon and they caved at the last minute, or I would have been switching to another carrier. Fight on Jessica.
I think I’m gonna buy a month of MLB.TV for $14.95 and check it out. Seems to be the only way to see every game. If my router cooperates, that is.
PTownFan,
from what I understand the MLB.tv *also* blacks out local games, and this year instead of going off your mailing address, it is determining where you live based on your ISP.
I couldn’t get the game on ESPN2 HD last night myself, on FiOS, but at least they carried the non-HD Sun Sports version.
Sorry you got blacked out. Your Rays did a great job at Fenway yesterday and today. Congrats! I don’t think MLB.TV blacks out local games, but I can’t swear to it. I have the Extra Innings package here in CA and they do black out Dodgers and Angels games.
Cheers – excellent story!
Is someone aware if there is a cheaper text message marketing 4 shops+stores @ California than 12stores.com? They only cost 9 dollars per month, nonetheless my customer Kenneth said me there is, unfortunately he couldn’t recall its name. I clearly start to get feeling that he recalled wrongly. Please reply
