Freakin Figures!

I think I’ve mentioned before that I hate day games, unless I’m actually there.  I have a hard time sitting still for three hours at night, but during the day it is all but impossible.  So I went to the beach today, and I forgot to record the game.  I thought this was no big deal until I read what I missed!

Garza only made it through 4.1 innings and gave up six runs.  Yuck.  He even walked in a run?  Is he a bit lacking in the mental edge department?  It seems like when things go bad, he gets pissed and then that becomes a vicous cycle.

18 hits.  Wow.

Bartlett had four hits.  Of course, since I missed it.  Sounds like he made an untimely error though, glad I missed that.

Pena hit a big time homerun.  I probably would have done a little happy dance after that one.

Longo hit a sac fly to tie it up.  Love him.

In the box score there is a WHOLE paragraph of base-running mistakes for the Rays.  Sounds like the one in the eighth must have been a crusher.

They lost in the 10th when Wheeler gave up a walk-off homerun.  Tampa 8 – St. Louis 9.  Bummer.

I didn’t watch the game so I could be wrong, but when reading about this game it’s amazing the Rays even had a chance to win.  Sucky starting pitching, an error and horrific base running usually means a butt-whoopin.  I guess their bats couldn’t make up for everything.

Well tomorrow I will try to watch, and I will definitely record it.  So it’s sure to be a snoozefest.  Let’s hope they can win another series!  Go Rays!!
