Game 37 - Angels vs. Rays
By Jessica | May 11, 2008
Mothers don’t sweep today, but the Rays do! (cute sign at the Trop today)
Say I ran into you last Friday morning at the coffee shop. We’re standing in line, you’re getting your mochafrappalattechino, and I’m getting my basic black coffee. Someone mentions the Rays and I say “They are going to sweep the Angels this weekend.”
You laugh and say “but they’re bringing two undefeated pitchers to the mound.”
I nod knowingly. “Yep but they’re each going home with a loss”
To which you reply “Girl, you done lost your mind!”
Seriously the Rays swept the Angels. Convincingly. So cool. Today’s final score was 8-5. Rays.
Crawford, Upton, and Aki all had 3 hits each.
Sonny didn’t have his best stuff but he kept them in it.
Howell is a really cool weapon to have. He pitched three great innings.
Longo was the only player who didn’t have a hit today, but he did hit a sac fly. Love him.
Carl Crawford has always been my favorite Ray, and he had a great game today. 3 hits, one of them a huge 3-run homer, and 2 stolen bases. He’s just so fun to watch. I do think he needs to call people off on pop-ups though!
Percy finished it off nicely again.
Let’s hope they keep going with this whole winning thing. The big bad Yankees are comin to town. Go Rays!!
