Game 28 - Rays vs. Orioles
By Jessica | May 1, 2008
…and Aki starts the game off with a fly ball. No comment.
CC walks and BJ ropes a double to move him to third. Pena grounds out and brings him home. Nice start. 1-0 Rays.
Exactly how does a body create that much spit? Shouldn’t Garza be dehydrated? I noticed the camera man doesn’t go to him as much, maybe he’s grossed out too.
Hinske almost gets caught stealing but the catcher throws into center field. Staats was saying it goes in the books as a caught stealing and an error though. I think. That conversation got really long so I started to tune them out.
Longo seems to be struggling a bit. No worries son, you have a gift.
Jonny Gomes! Homerun. Who wouldn’t want to take this guy to school! 2-0 Rays.
Sheister Hauster, Jones just hit a two run homer off Garza to tie it up.
Bartlett has a nice base hit. He is really an excellent base runner, and he’s not hard on the eyes either.
BJ! Say it ain’t so! He hurt his shoulder swinging the bat. God, please don’t let it be serious, I promise to be nice when writing about Aki even know he is driving me freakin batty.
Garza struggles in the 5th, but all in all has a pretty good outing. I think he’ll keep his job.
Top of the 7th they got it going again. Riggy walked. Bartlett base hit! They move to second and third when the ball gets away from the center fielder. Pena! Base hit scores 2. Rays lead 4-2.
Wheeler pitches two scoreless innings and Percy comes in to finish them off.
Rays win another series! Tampa 4 - Baltimore 2.
Let’s hope Crawford and Bartlett can keep up the good work, and that Aki and Longo can snap out of it! Go Rays!!
